Latte and Hot Chocolate 'Macchiato'...

Here's a latte made with 'stolen' (not by me) beans. Check out the dark, dense crema lining the cup!

The smaller 4oz cup in the foreground of the picture is the hot chocolate 'macchiato.' i don't know if the term macchiato can be applied. I am of the opinion that it means to be with a touch of milk, but am unsure of whether it only aplies to espresso or not. Does macchiato means espresso with a touch of milk or is it an espresso macchiato that encorporates both?

Enough late night rambling but come on, art in a 4 oz hot chocolate...that's impressive! ha ha ha

Hey Scott!

Wow! This new stuff is amazing! You definatly still got it! In the last couple of weeks I have been to about 8 coffee shops in both Regina, Saskatchewan and St. John's, Newfoundland. Surprisingly, the one of the shops in St. John's was by far the best. They've almost learned how to do art, they pull beautiful rostrettos and the atmosphere is very cool (sory if my spelling is off). All of the other shops were very bad, the scooped there foamed milk out of their huge pitcher to make four lattes (or at least that is what they call them). Anyway, I just have to say that now that I have experienced a wider spectrum of coffee, I realize more than ever that you are up there with guys like sam jones when it comes to producing a great cup of coffee dispite only using a home machine and not always the best quality bean. I have been dreaming lately of what it would be like if we could open a coffee shop together, and I could maybe exhibit and sell my art there too. Anyway, dreams sometimes become reality, that is if you them bad enough. What do you dream of Scott?

I'm off to San Francisco on thursday morning. Exciting and scary! Get on skype or email me if you get a chance.

Your good friend,

Jon Howse

Oh Scott, leave it to me to define the Italian. Macchiato translates roughly as "marked" or "stained". So, it's the espresso macchiato that incorporates both the espresso and the milk. Acceptable volumes appear to be between 2 and 4 oz.

On a different note... your art is incredible now. Well past mine, although that may change with potential jobs in Vancouver... nah. Keep it up mate.

I should go to bed... I work the 8-4 tomorrow and it's half past 11. Yawn.

Miss you tons mate,
Peter

(I will drink a shot of vodka in your honor tonight! Chopin, Polish potato vodka...)
